• Tied to power placed in him by an Old God
• Connected to the threat of one thousand years of darkness
• The Old God wants Crohl Ba’an dead so that the power in him can return
• If that power returns, the Old God may be released into the world
• Last known to be in the Cloven Hoof Cave
